Planning Bikaner Visit....

Hey , as you must be knowing that we were not able to materialize our plan for bikaner visit at lohri, but any how we managed our visit last weekend for 4 days ... It was 26th Jan falling on Tuesday so taking a Monday’s leave made full four days..

Whooopppyyyy !!

Only I know that how we have fought for this visit, we just need the one day leave.

Although it is always like a battle to ask for a leave for bikaner visit at my office, Nishu generally don’t get any road blocks in getting her leave sanctioned may be she’s doubly lucky to have a good husband and a polite boss in life at the same time... lolz with touch wood :P

But if u ask about my boss its just a pathetic tom n jerry play, asking for a single day leave is similar to ask for sleeping with his wife for a night.

I have always heard people fighting even for their Casual leaves, I never understand the fact if it is a casual leave then why it requires such a formal reason in order to acquire it, why juz it can’t be simply as casual as our mood.

Anyways, Organizations don’t have heart, that is what one can conclude to console your heart.

The project which we were working upon was no near to the end. means it has to be delayed and which in turn requires our extra effort in terms of working on Saturday and Sunday. I had already applied for the Monday’s leave 3 days in advance which was neither approved nor rejected

As per the plan nishu started from our indirapuram house with luggage in order to pick me from office and then catch the 9PM bus but here the scene was different, I dint tell her but it could be that I can take her back to home with luggage and bikaner trip cancelled.

But somehow we reached on some presentable state and justified that it has some still pending issues to be done and requires a genuine budgeted hours in order to do that, this is what we made our manager to understand so he dint even thought of working on weekend that meant the weekend was ours and bikaner trip was going to happen... whoooopppyyy !!

Will update you about the visit later on .....

First Lohri

Sometimes the things don’t go the way you want ... but it goes in the way that you just love it!!
same thing happened to us at our first lohri...

First of all let me tell you a Lil about Lohri(with the help of google :P), It's basically a north-india festival celebrated for harvesting winter(Rabi) Crops and It is very important for Newly wed and new born babies. basically it was originated in Punjab, the breadbasket of India.
So Punjabi community celebrating a festivals means, Lots of uncles n aunties fully loaded with their party wear Jewelry and heavy dresses, loud music, little-2 pegs and larger then life dinner plates. And of course not to forget, their huuuuuge gossips

We had a fulltush plan for going to bikaner on this auspicious occasion but Abhishek has fallen short of leaves, so wasn’t able to make it up. it was like first giving you the cup of ice cream nd then snatching it from you !!
Anyways we were not having any other choice apart from making our day in Delhi only. i was casually working in the office than suddenly i got a call from Abhishek that some of our local relatives are coming to our place in the evening for celebrating lohri... oh my God ... i need a hell lot of time to do the preparation & you are telling me now !!

uff after a lot of discussion regarding the arrangement n plan, We spent the rest of the day in office planning those things, and left office by 4 for sake of preperations, we decided to prepare the dinner at home only. that means i will be fully involved in kitchen for the evening & he has to do the rest of arrangements!! it is no less tougher then delivering a project in one tenth of the time decided for its completion and getting an appreciation note from the client......Huh
i wonder sometimes how mumma used to do it all the years
By grace of God and with a lil help of my husband we prepared everything well in time.

After preparing everything till late in the evening, we jus remembered that we also need some bonfire without of which lohri can’t be celebrated, there were we, having prepared everything except the main festival thing and clock ticking time of guests reaching our home anytime.
As we are newly shifted in our new house in Indirapuram, this place is not much familiar to us, and finding a wood store at the last moment was really tough. Infact no one has to do nything with the rituals but if you dont have it there will be talks for sure. means delivering of project without appreciation note ;)

we were asking our neighbors, guard, chowkidaar for any nearby wood store from where we can get just a few wood sticks to celebrate our first lohri but no one could be of any use to it, then suddenly an idea clicked to my husband that finally worked out, we simply went to a near-by temple, where we saw a small shop in front of the temple keeping very few items which could be useful to daily temple visitors, and there we found the wood sticks which he used to keep for Hawans etc., I could never expect, that small shop can be of such a big use. The wood sticks he said was for Rs 15 per KG :) even the flour we have is cheaper then this but may be he recognized our urgency at that time, after the negotiations he agreed for rs 12 a kg and he weighed the woods as if he was weighing some Gold items, my husband gave him a weird look and paid him and we rushed back to our home

Guests started reaching by 8 in the evening with their usual showing-off attitude for whatever they possess or even not possessed ever

We also invited some of our friends, few out of which i guess even could not know what they were celebrating but they just knew was they had few large pegs of their favourite brand and that followed by a dinner and that too followed by the desert and that also free of cost.
But anyways thank God the party went on with full energy. We had lot of fun, music, masti maja, gossip and not to forget lots of food for which we finally got appreciation note from everybody.Woww…J Don’t know should I thank the alcohol effects for that or the God or my husband …but whatever, it was good
It was around 1 or 1:30 till we got our bed for sleeping. It was too much for us that we woke up at 10o clk next day & i was having full body ache with fever. eh ...that was the 2nd bungle for me.
We went to office in second half making another excuse for late coming but self satisfied that anyhow we managed a day’s leave from the office.
Nevertheless, will keep you updated regarding other happenings of the life !!
